So, choose this 400km round trip crossing the Atlas Mountains mountain range through the Tizi Ntichka pass at an altitude of 2269 meters above sea level and be amazed by the wonderful landscapes full of Berber villas.

Itinerary :

8h00 AM :Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou Tour from Marrakech:

Visit the village of Ait Ben Haddou (where Star Wars was filmed). UNESCO has classified the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou as one of the world’s cultural treasures. It is studded with crenellated towers and its buildings are decorated with geometric motifs, making it one of the most beautiful villages of its kind in  Morocco . In fact, a restoration program is underway to encourage the village’s population, which is currently inhabited by only five families.

From this point, we will continue to Ouarzazate, the starting point of the Sahara Desert. We will visit  Kasbah Taourirt (only from the outside, as it is temporarily closed due to the earthquake). It is an old Glaoui residence, located on the edge of the town, on the road to the Sahara Desert in Morocco . This residence is considered one of the most beautiful  Kasbahs in Morocco , due to its labyrinth of luxury apartments, simple clay houses, and crenellated towers, all lavishly decorated with geometric motifs. Part of the Kasbah is open to the public.

After visiting this wonderful place, you’ll have some free time to enjoy a cup of mint tea or coffee. We recommend returning to  Marrakech  in the late afternoon, crossing the Atlas Mountains.
This way,  your day trip to Ouarzazate from Marrakech  and  the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou  will conclude in the late afternoon when you’re dropped off at your hotel or in the city center.

A useful guide for your trip?

What to pack in your luggage?

It depends on the time of year you visit us, in winter the weather is cold in Morocco and especially in the desert at night, so check first on a weather page to know better and exactly for the days you will be here, in early summer, let’s say from May to September, As we know, this country reaches 35-40 degrees, so you should choose your clothes as if you were having a direct trip to the beach. And you can even add to your list of trips to visit our beaches such as Essaouira, Agadir, Tangier, White House just to mention a few of them, we have daily tours available.
 

Which route should you select?

The excursion to Zagora is for those who visit the country for a couple of days and do not want to miss the opportunity to see once the dunes, in Zagora the dunes are much smaller than Merzouga but no less beautiful, the two of them have the magic of the desert and the logistics until we reach Ouarzazate is the same as it is the same road, on this first and only night tour you will sleep in the desert camp of Zagora.

The Merzouga tour, as it is further away than Zagora, is offered as a 3 days tour the first night is in Dades Georges and the second night you will sleep in the Merzouga camp.

On the fence to book the private or shared tour?

The Sahara desert tour from Marrakech is offered as shared, which means that you will be accompanied by 16 more travelers from all over the world, the languages spoken by the driver are English and the local languages.

The private tour we offer in Spanish and local languages, the tour is done only with the people traveling with you, the minimum is 2 people, but we can also make an exception if you are just a traveler and an additional amount will be added.

Traveling alone?

There are some taboos that we hear sometimes from different countries and stories that we don’t know if they are true or not, but I will recommend that if you have the opportunity to travel alone to this country, it is something you should do! There is nothing to worry about, especially if you are a woman, the only thing that can be uncomfortable is that a vendor is begging you to buy their products and nothing else, the city is full of tourists all year round and security especially takes care of tourism.

This trip is excellent value. You are picked up early and transported in a comfortable coach through the mountains. Akram, our brilliant guide, told us of the history of both Agadir and Marrakesh.
Once there, he walked with us through the narrow alleyways of the medina. We visited an interesting shop selling spices and oils, complete with demonstrations. Our meal was in a reasonably priced rooftop restaurant, after which we were free to explore the old city. I was confused as to where the meeting point was, but Akram came and found me. As he said, he has ‘never left anyone behind’.
Very much recommended.

Der Reiseführer sowie der Busfahrer sind großartig. Marrakesch ist eine wundervolle Stadt. Es war mit knappen 40 Grad sehr heiß. Bitte nehmen sie einen Fächer, einen Ventilator oder etwas ähnliches mit. Es ist sehr heiß.
Die Führung durch den Bazar ist ein einzigartiges Erlebnis. So bunt, interessant und vielfältig.

Marrakesch ist eine wundervolle Stadt mit traditionellem Charme.
Die Fahrt von Agadir war natürlich lang (3-4 Stunden). Es hat sich aber gelohnt.
Wir haben uns den Souk angeschaut, hatten ein leckeres marokkanisches Essen über den Dächern von Marrakesch (im Preis nicht enthalten).
Dann hatten wir noch ca. 2 Stunden Zeit zur freien Verfügung. In der Zeit kann man sich den Bahia Palace oder den großen Marktplatz anschauen. Akram, unser Guide, konnte sehr gut englisch sprechen und war sehr kompetent hinsichtlich der marokkanischen Geschichte. Er konnte uns viel erklären und war immer offen für Fragen.

Auch wenn es ein langer Tag war, würde ich die Tour empfehlen.
