Day 1: Private 1-day tour to Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou

Your private 1-day tour to Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou and Ouarzazate will start early in the morning (07h00) with pickup from your hotel/riad.

Drive east of Marrakech crossing the high atlas mountains and the Tizi Ntichka pass. Numerous stops will be made to enjoy the views, take photos, stretch your legs or have a coffee.

Visit the village of Ait benhaddou, where Star Wars, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Game of Thrones, etc. were filmed.

The fortified village of Ait Benhaddou has been classified by UNESCO as one of the world’s cultural treasures. It is dotted with crenellated towers and its buildings are decorated with geometric motifs and is considered one of the most beautiful villages of its kind in Morocco. A restoration programme is currently underway to encourage the population of the village, which is currently inhabited by only five families.

Continue to Ouarzazate, which marks the start of the Sahara Desert. Visit the kasbah of Taourirt. This former residence of the Glauis, located on the outskirts of the city, on the Moroccan Sahara desert road, is considered to be one of the most beautiful kasbahs in Morocco. It is made up of a labyrinth of luxury apartments, simple mud houses and crenellated towers lavishly decorated with geometric motifs. A part of the fortified villa is open to the public.

After some free time for a cup of mint tea or coffee, return to Marrakech in the afternoon as you cross the High Atlas Mountains.

Your full-day tour from Marrakech to Ouarzazate and Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou will end in the late afternoon with drop-off at your hotel or the nearest accessible point to your Riad de la Medina.

You can take a shared taxi from Ouarzazate to Ait Ben Haddou. They don’t usually go directly to Ben Haddou; you tell them where you want to go. They’ll stop in a small village, and from there you’ll take another taxi to Ait Ben Haddou. The journey from Ouarzazate to Ait Ben Haddou takes only 30 minutes via the N10/N9 and the P1506.

El pasado noviembre, mi mujer y yo hicimos nuestro primer viaje a Marruecos y no pudimos hacer mejor elección que reservarlo con Marruecos Tour del Desierto. Mi marido y yo acabamos de terminar un viaje de seis días desde Casablanca a Marrakech que incluyó paradas en Chefchaouen, Fez y el desierto del Sahara en Marruecos. Todo estuvo bien planificado. El paseo en camello al atardecer en Merzouga fue lo más destacado para nosotros, seguido de una noche en una preciosa tienda de campaña de lujo en Erg Chebbi. Si quieres unas vacaciones sin estrés y bien organizadas, definitivamente te recomiendo reservar a través de Marrakech Desert Trips. Ten en cuenta que pasarás mucho tiempo en la carretera. Nos sentamos cómodamente en el 4×4 con suficiente espacio para cuatro maletas.

Tour excelentemente organizado, cumpliendo con todo lo contratado. Nos pasaron a buscar por el aeropuerto y luego Hassan nos llevó en un tour privado para las tres personas que contratamos el viaje, a Marrakech, Merzouga, Fez, Mekines, Chefchaouen, y demás lugares. Fuimos al desierto y pasamos una noche en una haima. Todo fue increíble. Muy interesante conocer la cultura de ese país y su gente. Hassan muy buen conductor, muy organizado, educado y respetuoso. Fue muy lindo conocer a su familia, su mamá nos preparó un cous cous delicioso. Los alojamientos fueron muy buenos así como también los guías que nos esperaban en las diferentes ciudades para explicarnos todo.
