Day 1: Day trip to Ouzoud Falls

Our 1-day tour from Marrakech to Ouzoud Falls begins with a 3-hour drive through the picturesque Atlas Mountains. The falls are located north of Marrakech, in the village of Tanaghmeilt, in the province of Azilal.

On the way to the Ouzoud waterfalls, we will pass in front of vast olive groves and as we get closer, the falls will become visible from a distance, this view alone is quite spectacular!

When we arrive at the Ouzoud waterfalls, you will notice that the trails extend into the waterfalls and around the water streams below. You can also take a dip in the natural pools of the Ouzoud waterfall, or if you’re brave enough, you can join the locals and jump from the high cliffs into the water.

After a pleasant morning, enjoy a Moroccan lunch at your leisure in one of the local cafes or restaurants located in the heart of the Ouzoud waterfalls.

Conclude your day trip from Marrakech to Ouzoud Waterfalls with a return trip to Marrakech, where our driver will drop you off at your hotel or riad.

How far are Ouzoud Falls from Marrakech?

The Ouzoud Falls are 157.5 km northeast of Marrakech. The estimated journey time via the N8 and R208 is 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Can I swim in Ouzoud Waterfalls?

You can swim in one of the pools located at the bottom of the Ouzoud waterfalls, provided the currents are good.

What is the weather/climate at Ouzoud Waterfalls?

The average temperature at Ouzoud Falls is 18°C. The falls are located 785 m above sea level. Most of the rainfall occurs in winter and rarely in spring. However, summers are relatively dry, with very little summer rain.

Are there cafes/restaurants at Ouzoud Falls?

Most of the cafes are located along the alley leading to the bottom of the Ouzoud waterfall pools. They serve Berber tagines and Moroccan salads. Although the setting is very modest and rustic, the views are incredible.

Are there monkeys at Ouzoud Waterfalls?

You’ll easily spot several Barbary macaques during your hike to the bottom of the Ouzoud Falls. These monkeys are generally friendly and will approach humans hoping for food. However, for a more meaningful interaction, you can buy some nuts from a local shop—and trust me, the monkeys love them!

Este viaje nocturno es una manera fantástica de vivir la experiencia del desierto. Durante el viaje, podrá disfrutar de impresionantes vistas de varias cadenas montañosas de Marruecos. Los atardeceres y los amaneceres son absolutamente impresionantes. Tenga en cuenta que la calidad de la comida puede no estar a la altura de sus expectativas y prepárese para el viaje en autobús. Nuestro guía bereber en camello y la experiencia en el campamento fueron una delicia. Sin duda, es algo que debe hacer cuando esté en Marrakech.
